Aerial Silks & Aerial Hoop Intensives
Aerial Hoop (aka Lyra) techniques, tricks, and safe progressions. This is an open level
beginning aerial training that is ideal for anyone, from the complete novice student to the
experienced student seeking a higher understanding of foundation skills. This is a good place to
start for those interested in learning to teach aerial arts. Attendees will experience Introduction
to Aerial Arts classes as a student, followed by a thorough break down of each beginning aerial
skill featured in these demo classes. The class material will be used to create a cumulative
flexibility and strength building vocabulary. For experienced aerialists interested in teaching
aerial arts, this training will provide insight in how to create an accessible curriculum to the
brand new-to-aerial student. To be certified to teach material presented in this intensive,
attendees must attend and successfully complete the Aradia/Empyrean Arts Beginning Aerial
Intensive Training Highlights

Beginning Aerial Arts Teacher Certification
Our Beginning Aerial Arts Teacher Certification is an in-depth approach to learning how to teach
Aerial Silks or Aerial Hoop (aka Lyra) techniques, tricks, and safe progressions. This beginning
aerial teacher training is open to those who have successfully completed the Aradia Aerial
Intensive and-or applicants must be proficient in the following aerial skills – Silks: basic wrap
climb and descent on both sides, clean aerial footlock on both sides, and comfortable with
inverting from standing (for example – tuck up between silks, straddle hold, knee hook, etc);
Lyra: clean mount and dismount, comfortable double knee hang, and bent arm underhand hold
(bottom bar) for a 5 second minimum.
Attendees will experience Introduction to Aerial Arts classes as a student, followed by a
thorough break down of each beginning aerial skill featured in these demo classes. Spotting
technique will also be taught along with each skill. The class material will be used to create a
cumulative flexibility and strength building aerial vocabulary. This training will offer clear
instruction in how to create an accessible curriculum to the brand new-to-aerial student by
providing a weekly curriculum layout that can be used for drop-in or series class format.
This Certification includes additional requirements outside of the in-person 4 day training to be
completed within a specific time frame.
