Beginning Aerial Arts Teacher Certification
Our Beginning Aerial Arts Teacher Certification is an in-depth approach to learning how to teach
Aerial Silks or Aerial Hoop (aka Lyra) techniques, tricks, and safe progressions. This beginning
aerial teacher training is open to those who have successfully completed the Aradia Aerial
Intensive and-or applicants must be proficient in the following aerial skills – Silks: basic wrap
climb and descent on both sides, clean aerial footlock on both sides, and comfortable with
inverting from standing (for example – tuck up between silks, straddle hold, knee hook, etc);
Lyra: clean mount and dismount, comfortable double knee hang, and bent arm underhand hold
(bottom bar) for a 5 second minimum.
Attendees will experience Introduction to Aerial Arts classes as a student, followed by a
thorough break down of each beginning aerial skill featured in these demo classes. Spotting
technique will also be taught along with each skill. The class material will be used to create a
cumulative flexibility and strength building aerial vocabulary. This training will offer clear
instruction in how to create an accessible curriculum to the brand new-to-aerial student by
providing a weekly curriculum layout that can be used for drop-in or series class format.
This Certification includes additional requirements outside of the in-person 4 day training to be
completed within a specific time frame.
